Saltwater power with presentation feel

The Sage Salt R8 combines fish-fighting strength with the feel needed for accurate saltwater presentations. Its fast action balances power and touch, giving anglers a dedicated saltwater rod for situations where placing the fly matters as much as delivering it.

From Vineyard flats to tropical water

Sight fishing to striped bass, presenting a fly to cruising bonefish, and making a shot at permit all call for control. The Salt R8 is worth considering if you want a rod that combines precise presentations with the strength to pressure hard-fighting fish.

Choose the right rod weight

An 8wt is an option for bonefish and lighter saltwater fishing. A 9wt offers versatility for Vineyard striped bass, albies, and permit, while heavier models suit larger flies and more demanding fish. We’ll help you choose a weight and fly line around your fishing and casting style.
